Interior photos of the Basin Depot cabin tell a great deal about the this century-old log building. Weathered square logs comprise the exterior walls and floor joists. The two floors are linked by a delapidated ladder. It’s four walls are layered with whitewash, paint, grafitti and bits of wallpaper. Simple paned glass windows let in the light.
The Museum of London has launched an iPhone app that allows users to overlap four hundred years of historic images with present-day streetscapes. This Gizmodo blog post illustrates how it works, along with public feedback. The Museum of London website provides details. Alas, the app is available in the UK only — pity.
