As our society becomes increasingly affluent and more mobile, the need to record the places we call home becomes more and more relevant. Historyofhomes was developed as as a gift to our children, and all those who have an interested in the houses that are special to them.

The goal of Historyofhomes is to establish a rich and accurate catalogue of homes around the world, to celebrate their historical and architectural significance, and to link the people who have lived within them.

Launched in spring 2010, Historyofhomes provides a comprehensive framework for sharing personal housing histories and researching the history of houses and dwellings. Members are invited to share images, facts and stories about the homes they’ve lived in, to research the history of houses around the world, and to browse the housing histories of people that interest them. Historyofhomes is a valuable resource for those doing genealogical research and tracing family trees.
